FAQ

General:

When is your birthday?
July 26, 1994 (making me18 years old)

How tall are you?
5'9"

What is your ethnicity?
American. However, I have predominate heritages of: Polish, Danish, Irish and Swedish.

Where are you from?
I am from NYC, born and raised here. I've lived in the same apartment my entire life, except for a few months when I was 17 and lived on my own. (Now I'm back in my childhood apartment).

How was it growing up in NYC?
Well, I don't have anything to compare it to because it's all I know. When I think about growing up not in an urban city I automatically think of cars and yellow school buses. Never having to be chauffeured around by my parents is awesome. The exposure to so many people and culture has deffinately played a large role in shaping my character. I love that I am from here and wouldn't change it for the world.

Do you have any pets?
Fuck yeah! I have two cats and one dog.

Any siblings?
A brother who is 5 years older.

Modeling:

How did you get into modeling?
When I worked at American Apparel I met Elle Ribera. I really admired her from afar and started following her photography, but I was kinda shy to talk to her. When we talked she complained about models always bailing on her, and I asked if I could model for her (because I just wanted to hang out with her). To my surprise she was really happy I asked because she actually wanted me to model for her but also was shy! I posted all of the photos to lookbook.nu and shortly after AGENCY Model Management contacted me about being a signed model. Since then Elle and I have become close friends and I've become a model.

Are you currently agency represented?
Yes/no. I'm signed to AGENCY but not currently or actively working with them. Right now I am mostly freelancing. I soon plan to either return to agency or find a new modeling management.

Art:

What got you into art?
Art has played an important role in my life and ever since I was young I’ve had a passion for creating art and all things aesthetically pleasing. The first self portrait I made was when I was in first grade. Then in middle school it became something I was really into because of Gaia Online. I was bullied and didn’t have many friends so I spent most of my hours drawing and creating digital animations that I sold for Gaia money. Since then I've just continued to make art as much as possible because of how happy it makes me!

How did you learn?
Self taught. I mean art is a school requirement but I was never taught any traditional art skills. I always knew what I wanted to make and my teachers would just let me do my thing. Other kids would be learning how to do this and that, but I had no interest because I just wanted to make what I wanted.

Traditional art tools?
I tend to mainly use acrylic paint and water color paint. In general I love painting. I use a variety of paints, brushes, and canvases. I'm not partial to other materials, charcoal, pastels, oil pastels, and anything else colorful is fun too!

Digital art tools?
I use Photoshop CS5 (sometimes Adobe Illustrator CS6) and my Bamboo Wacom tablet.

how long does a piece take you?
It entirely depends on the piece. Digital work is obviously a lot faster but it is just based on what I'm making and its size.

Dealing with artistic block?
It's always a new challenge trying to overcome artistic block. My best advice for dealing with it would be to lower your expectations & accept mediocrity. Don't expect everything to be perfect, because even if you're not happy with something it's only just practice and developing skills. So just push yourself to make art. And at first it might be difficult, but then it becomes super rewarding and fulfilling.
